Safety Survey!

Homecare  providers,

The link below leads to a survey that aims to make visiting staff nurses safer as they travel to and enter patient’s homes across the nation.  A homecare/hospice nurse was the victim of a sexual assault Louisiana in January 2012. That event has heightened the need to be vigilant about the safety and awareness of homecare and hospice visiting staff. In March 2012 a half day summit  was held by the Louisiana Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (LMHPCO)and the HomeCare Association of Louisiana (HCLA). The organizations have teamed up with Pam Albers, LCSW, BACS,  a researcher and an expert in this field, in an effort to gather information from a survey of visiting staff. This environmental scan intends to lead to  enriched staff education, policies, procedures, and other endeavors that will focus on staff safety. The survey is anonymous and the information will be used only for educational purposes.  Please distribute this link to our visiting staff to help assure that we get robust participation and more sound research to will lead to enhance safety efforts for home care and hospice across the nation.
