HCLA Membership Packets Mailed!

Membership in the HomeCare Association of Louisiana

Membership dues, in 2018, helped to advance the home health industry’s next steps related to pre-claim review, now called the Review Choice Demonstration project. The dues you have paid to the HomeCare Association of Louisiana have in part helped drive Congressional legislation, sponsored by four Louisiana Congressmen, to address unfair behavioral adjustments in the new PDGM, Patient Groupings Model (PDGM) in the 2019 final rule. HCLA leaders and members are part of the national effort to address changes the industry experts indicate will have had a bigger financial impact than the Interim Payment System (IPS), which played a role in the closing of nearly 300 Louisiana home health agencies in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Chase, Amazon, Berkshire-Hathaway, Walmart, Humana, Aetna, and others are entering the healthcare and homecare space. Government initiatives are advancing that will have critical implications for care at home. HCLA engages forward-thinking members to address the changes, to see over the horizon, and to provide the tools to turn these changes into a business advantage. The HomeCare Association itself is exploring change, advancing the process of due diligence and a potential merger with the Louisiana Mississippi Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (LMHPCO).
